Tourdust Launches Family Trips

What’s new? The brainchild of Anna and Ben Colclough, who have three children of their own, Tourdust has made a name for itself creating off-the-beaten-track adventures for couples and young groups. But now, we’re pleased to hear, it’s turning its attention to families.

Family Sea Kayaking Holiday: An eight-day holiday in Dubrovnik will have the team exploring the Elaphite Islands by kayak with a mix of paddling, snorkelling and playing on the beach and a guide to show you what’s what. You’ll be based on the island of Lopud, surrounded by stunning coastline in charming apartments, owned by local families, all within walking distance of the sea.

Price: £642 per person (based on a family of four), which includes return flights from London, seven nights’ accommodation, seven breakfasts, three dinners in nearby tavernas, a guide, all of the activities on the tour, all transfers by local boat, return transfers to and from Dubrovnik airport and all applicable taxes.

 

Marrakech Trek and Surf HolidayIn just under four hours you can be trekking in the Atlas mountains (accompanied by mules for any tired legs). Recoup in a beautiful riad in Marrakech before heading to the Atlantic coast for a few days surfing.

Safari and Maasai Family Adventure: If you’d prefer to go further a field, there’s an eight-day adventure to Kenya, combining safaris and game drives with camping in a Maasai village, – where children will learn to light a fire and shoot arrows– cycling in Hells Gate National Park and a boat trip on Lake Naivasha.

Price: £1,843 per person (based on a family of four) including international flights, all accommodation, meals and transfers, as well as an English-speaking guide, plus the park fees and all camping equipment.

Croatian Villa Holidays

What’s new? Croatian Villa Holidays now have a collection of family-friendly accommodations with both affordable sea-front cottages for four and larger villas for groups, with a pool and activities and facilities for kids. These new affordable accommodations and a good selection of flights form the UK have all contributed to Croatia’s growing popularity for families.

 

Villa Nirvana

This recently renovated villa is situated in the peaceful countryside near Vela Luka, a fishing village. The simply furnished villa has a private pool and scuba diving, surfing and kite surfing 1 km away. Small boats can also be hired from the main coastal towns and resorts. Vela Luka is the largest town on the island of Kor?ula and is situated near Gradina Cove, which offers a shallow, pebbly coast with a sandy bottom making it idea for families with children.

 

Villa Del Mar

Offering more luxury, this spacious villa in Pula has a one-acre garden with a large pool, swings and a slide, backing directly on to the beach. Kayaks and inflatables are available for use in the sea and the outdoor experience is completed with a covered summer kitchen. With 6 bedrooms this villa has enough room for the whole family and more. A little further out of town is Rt Kamenjak where adventurous families can enjoy cliff jumping or a swim in the crystal clear sea.

 

Surf Villa Bol Apartments

These newly built beach side apartments are just twenty metres from the sea and offer teenagers easy access to the beach, a selection of activities and some nightlife. The villa is located right on the seafront of the famous Zlatni Rat beach and is a short walk into the lively town centre of Bol. Bol is the main centre for watersports such as windsurfing and kite surfing. Visitors can also book an excursion to the mainland to go rafting on the Cetina river.

 

THE LOWDOWN:

Getting there: Dubrovnik airport is 3 hours and 30 minutes from Vela Luka, while Split airport is about 4 hours away. Split is about 2 hours and 30 minutes from Bol. EasyJet flies to both destinations from Gatwick and Stansted from around £60.15 return to Dubrovnik and £59.15 return to Split.

Pula airport is about 20 minutes from Villa Del Mar. Ryanair flies from London Stansted to Pula from around £83.98 return.
